Earlier in the year I booked quad biking experience for 18 of our staff as a little treat for all their hard work over the Christmas period. I chose a quad biking experience after being reassured that our event would go ahead pretty much whatever the weather, which was lucky because it absolutely tipped it down when we arrived!
The news that we were going quad biking went down really well, and even though a couple of the team had been on quad biking experiences before the majority of us had no idea what to expect. After we'd all arrived at the site we signed in and got changed into a pair of overalls, before sitting down for a briefing from the instructor, who gave us a lot more information about what our experience would consist of.
Because of our group size we had to go out in two separate groups, which was definitely better because it meant there was no waiting around, and it gave us the perfect excuse for a coffee and catch up once we'd completed our quad biking experience. Before the instructors led us off on our trek though we were given some time to get used to the quad bikes controls, and once we'd mastered the basics we were all raring to go.
As we made our way into the countryside we had an instructor leading the way, with another at the back to make sure everybody kept up with the pace. The trek took us through woodland, over hills and through lots of mud, and even though the rain didn't let up it made our experience even more fun!
By the time we all got back to base we were all absolutely soaked and covered in mud, but the guys couldn't have been happier. We'd been out on the quad bikes for around an hour, but if we could have stayed out even longer we definitely would have. After warming up and swapping stories it was obvious the guys really enjoyed the event, and it gave us the chance to get to know them better too which was definitely an added bonus.
