Alex goes Quad Biking in Market Harborough

A weekend away from Quad Nation HQ means only one thing for the Quad Nation team – a weekend of quad biking!

So when we were invited down Leicestershire to visit one of our most popular venues, we loaded up the cars, dug out the driving tunes and hit the road. But how would we fair against one of the toughest quad treks in the country? Let’s hand over to Quad Biking Specialist Alex to find out..

“Our customers absolutely love the quad trek at Quad Biking Market Harborough, and because I’ve heard so many good things I couldn’t wait to try it myself. Getting down to Leicestershire from our head office in Harrogate meant a bit of an early start, but believe me it was worth it.

As soon as you head down the track towards the quad centre you know you’re in for an incredible experience, because not only are you completely surrounded by countryside, you also pass the 4×4 course, which looks insane. We’ll definitely be going back down to give that a go!

After a bit of a nosey round the site we parked up and made our way to the main building, where we signed in and said hello to some of the quad biking team at Market Harborough. The guys were all really welcoming and we even had time for a quick brew and tour of the grounds with our instructor Rob, who had us in stitches from the off. There’s loads of different activities to try at our Market Harborough venue, so seeing where the shooting and off-road karting takes place was really good.

Once we’d worked our way round the site it was time to get down to action, and after a quick change into a helmet and waterproof jacket we were all raring to go. To lead our experience Rob handed over to Holly, who taught us how to get the best out of the bikes and put us through our paces on the training track. Because the quads were geared and the course was so bumpy I was a little bit nervous at first, but after we’d completed a couple of training laps and picked up a few tips from Holly we were all racing round like pros.

The trek itself was even better than I expected, even for experienced quad bikers like us it had everything. We started out by working our way through some really thick woodland with only a couple of inches between the bikes and the trees, and then out of nowhere we were in open countryside with loads of mud and puddles to plough through. The scenery was amazing and so was the speed of the quads, and Holly gave us plenty of time to push them a bit. What really made the experience was all the mud though, and the highlight of the day was when two of the guys got stuck. Despite being told to avoid the deeper ditches they followed each other straight into one of the biggest bogs on the course, and of course they had to be towed out.

Our time on the quads absolutely flew by, but we saw loads of the site and the surrounding countryside, which was awesome. The trek really is one-of-a-kind at Quad Biking Market Harborough, and the guys really go out of their way to give you the best experience possible. I’d definitely recommend, and as long as we promise not to get any more quad bikes stuck I’d love to do it again.

Thanks to Rob and the team for a brilliant day, we all had a blast!”

Well, it sounds like everybody just about made it round in one piece, and the guys definitely had an awesome day. So if you think you’re ready to take on the ultimate off-road challenge at Quad Biking Market Harborough, why not see if you’ve got the skill to survive the 60 minute Quad Bike Safari?

Karen’s Visit to Quad Nation Durham

After a crazy month here at Quad Nation HQ the Easter weekend gave some of our hard-working team the perfect opportunity to recharge their batteries. But forget taking it easy, any spare time for our bunch of ATV addicts is nearly always spent blasting round the countryside on a quad bike. So when we got the chance to visit Quad Biking Durham on Easter Sunday we polished off the last of our Easter eggs and were there in a flash.

For the inside track on the days action we caught up with Karen..

“Despite the early start I couldn’t wait to try quad biking at our Durham venue, I’ve been quad biking loads of times before, but Durham’s one of our most popular venues so I was really excited to finally give their course a go.

We arrived on site just before 10am, which meant we had time for a quick coffee and bacon sarnie before our quad biking experience – and if you ask me there’s no better way to start the day! After breakfast it was straight down to action though, and once we’d kitted up we sat down for a full safety briefing. The instructors were really clear and informative, and as well as telling us how to get the best out of the quads they also gave us a quick run through of the course, which definitely helps you prepare for some of the trickier parts of the trek.

Before heading into the woods our trek started with a bit on training on a grass circuit, which was actually really good because it gave us a chance to get used to the quads and have a bit of a race. After we’d all done a couple of laps and got the competitiveness out of our system it was time for off, and despite the speed going to my head a little bit it was awesome. The trek was really good fun and the course at Durham features loads of hills, woodland and mud paths, which we all loved.

Don’t get me wrong, the trek was absolutely awesome, but what really made the experience for me was tearing round the grass circuit at the start of the experience. When it comes to quad biking I’m a bit of petrol head, so to have the chance to pick up a bit of speed on the specially-designed grass circuit was awesome. The guys at Durham were brilliant too, and they really made sure we all had as much fun as possible.

The whole day was even better than I expected, and I’d definitely do it again.”

We’d just like to say a huge thank you to everybody at Quad Biking Durham and if you’d like to take on the challenging course, Karen and the team took on the 1 hour trek which you can find the full details of right here.

This enormous quad biking venue clocks in at a whopping 90 acres, which gives you the perfect opportunity to push a quad bike to the limit. But it’s not just the sheer size of Quad Biking Hailsham that we love, the tracks and off-road trails are some of the most challenging around too. So as well as getting to explore spectacular countryside, you’ll also get to test your ATV skills by riding through muddy swamps and up steep inclines – and then there’s the winding woodland paths!

The team of instructors at Hailsham quad biking are some of the best around too, and their most recent review proves they’re prepared to do whatever it takes to make your day as memorable as possible, even if it means throwing in a couple of bottles of fizz! Don’t just take our word for it though, here’s what our customers have to say about this brilliant quad biking venue..

“The guys were really welcoming and good fun. The course was a quagmire but they went overboard to give us a go on the rifles and provided two bottle of fizz for prizes, which was unexpected and appreciated. A great morning, thanks very much.”

Tom visits Tadcaster Quad Biking…

Autumn is undoubtedly in the air, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, because this time of year provides the perfect conditions for quad biking. So with the promise of even more mud to play in we decided it was the ideal time for yet another off-road adventure. This time it was Tom our Partner Relations Executive who took up the challenge, and he visited Quad Biking Tadcaster to explore the wild woodland that surrounds Hazlewood castle. Here’s how the action unfolded..

tom

“Having never tried quad biking before I decided to go for the 45 minute Quad Adventure, which gives you a bit more time on the quad bikes, as well as the chance to take on some pretty exciting off-road obstacles.

When we arrived at the quad centre we couldn’t wait to get out on the course, and after checking-in at reception and signing a disclaimer we got straight down to action. Even though I’ve never done anything like quad biking before I picked up the basics really quickly, and because the quads were automatic they were fairly easy to control. Our instructor Rick explained everything really clearly too, and each time we reached an obstacle or steep incline/decline he made sure we knew the best way to tackle it.

tom5

The course itself was amazing, and there was plenty of mud to churn up as we wound our way through the woodland. There was a good mix of skills-based obstacles and fast straights too, which meant we could really push the quad bikes to the limit. The best obstacle we tackled though was the “limbo bar”, which not only tests your skill on the quad bike but your flexibility too. After our instructor had fixed a bar between two trees, we had the daunting task of passing underneath it without knocking it off – which as you can imagine isn’t easy! As the bar got lower and lower scraping through safely became even trickier, but we somehow managed to conquer the entire limbo obstacle without knocking the bar off once.

I didn’t expect the woodland trek to be quite as extensive as it was, and the time absolutely flew by. The whole experience was even better than I expected and I’d definitely recommend going for the 45 minute session. Hazlewood castle is the perfect setting for a quad biking experience, and we even saw a couple of deer running through the trees, which made our experience even more memorable.

I’d just like to thank the entire team at Quad Biking Tadcaster for a brilliant day, with a special mention for Rick our instructor who was very friendly, and patient with us from the off.”
