Ramble vs Circuit – Which is the better experience?

Quad bikes are tailor-made to tackle almost any terrain, which makes them perfect for both tearing through the countryside, and conquering specially designed off-road circuits. With 69 quad biking venues across the UK and Ireland we can offer both quad rambles and quad circuits, so to help you decide between the two here’s a look at some of the main differences.

Whichever option you choose the one thing you’re guaranteed is lots of bumpy and uneven ground. However quad circuits do tend to be slightly smoother – but that’s not to say you won’t come across plenty of hidden bumps and potholes along the way! Rambles can be just as rugged though, and as you work your way through the countryside you’ll wind your way down woodland paths and dirt tracks pushing both you and the bikes to the limit.

Speed

Quad bikes aren’t really built for speed, but in the right hands they can hit some seriously impressive top speeds. On a quad ramble you’ll never really get to push the quads to the limit, purely for your own safety. Whereas at a quad circuit you’ll be able to squeeze a bit more speed out of the them, and with a mix of banked corners and high-speed straights to negotiate, your driving skills will be pushed to the limit.

Let’s face it we’re not exactly blessed with the best weather here in the UK, but when it comes to quad biking at least all the extra rain makes for a better experience. Splashing through mud and puddles is one of the best things about a quad ramble, and no matter how old you are it’s impossible not to enjoy churning up the mud on a quad bike! You probably won’t find quite as many puddles at a quad circuit, but the rain does make things more interesting.. especially when it comes to cornering!

Format

One of the main differences between a quad ramble and quad circuit is the role the instructor plays. Quad rambles are led by instructors, which means you have to follow the instructor as you explore the countryside. Whereas at a quad circuit you’re free to work your way round the track without an instructor. However in both instances you will receive full tuition before taking the quads for a spin.
