Karen’s Visit to Quad Nation Durham

After a crazy month here at Quad Nation HQ the Easter weekend gave some of our hard-working team the perfect opportunity to recharge their batteries. But forget taking it easy, any spare time for our bunch of ATV addicts is nearly always spent blasting round the countryside on a quad bike. So when we got the chance to visit Quad Biking Durham on Easter Sunday we polished off the last of our Easter eggs and were there in a flash.

For the inside track on the days action we caught up with Karen..

“Despite the early start I couldn’t wait to try quad biking at our Durham venue, I’ve been quad biking loads of times before, but Durham’s one of our most popular venues so I was really excited to finally give their course a go.

We arrived on site just before 10am, which meant we had time for a quick coffee and bacon sarnie before our quad biking experience – and if you ask me there’s no better way to start the day! After breakfast it was straight down to action though, and once we’d kitted up we sat down for a full safety briefing. The instructors were really clear and informative, and as well as telling us how to get the best out of the quads they also gave us a quick run through of the course, which definitely helps you prepare for some of the trickier parts of the trek.

Before heading into the woods our trek started with a bit on training on a grass circuit, which was actually really good because it gave us a chance to get used to the quads and have a bit of a race. After we’d all done a couple of laps and got the competitiveness out of our system it was time for off, and despite the speed going to my head a little bit it was awesome. The trek was really good fun and the course at Durham features loads of hills, woodland and mud paths, which we all loved.

Don’t get me wrong, the trek was absolutely awesome, but what really made the experience for me was tearing round the grass circuit at the start of the experience. When it comes to quad biking I’m a bit of petrol head, so to have the chance to pick up a bit of speed on the specially-designed grass circuit was awesome. The guys at Durham were brilliant too, and they really made sure we all had as much fun as possible.

The whole day was even better than I expected, and I’d definitely do it again.”

We’d just like to say a huge thank you to everybody at Quad Biking Durham and if you’d like to take on the challenging course, Karen and the team took on the 1 hour trek which you can find the full details of right here.
